Let us tell you a bit about "Sunrise Quarter Horse Stud". We have been involved in Quarter Horses since 1984. Our first Quarter Horse stallion was "Sunrise Twister" Q13866. We owned and promoted this stallion from when we purchased him at 6 months of age. He has a Register of Merits in Halter, Performance, Trail, Western Pleasure. He is also an Australian Quarter Horse Champion. He sired many a foal that excelled in the showring.
After injury forced the gelding of "Sunrise Twister" we purchased a colt foal by One Scotch Delight (imp) This horse was shown for many a champion at halter and winning many a futurity in western and english. He sired two filly foals for us before an untimely death.
Our resident stallion is registered and has breeding fees paid for both the Australian Quarter Horse Association and The Australian Stock Horse Society. Therefore foals are eligible for both registries. He has a Register of Merit in Halter. Unfortunately he was not promoted under saddle due to the previous owners work commitments. They did however, begin him in the cutting ring for 4 showings of which he won 3. His foals are showing promise in many areas of the showring.
The first year of owning "Northern Bound", whose Registered Stock Horse name is "JR Northern Bound", we decided to show him at halter in our local area where he was undefeated in his halter classes. Then due to our work commitments we have only used him for stud purposes. Where he is an excellent stallion to have around.
We specialise in breeding "Quality Quiet" foals. The foals that we have bred over the years have excelled in many fields. Hack, Western Events, Dressage, Eventing, Showjumping and Halter to name a few. They have also made exceptional lifelong pets for their owners.
We have cut down on our breeding operations these days to concentrate on showing a couple of our stock again. We rarely have stock for sale but some people that have bred to our stallion will at times have progeny for sale. Check out for sale page to view these.
